Hello, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about
myself. I was born and raised in Poquoson. My husband Larry and I have been
married for over 23 years. We are blessed with two daughters: Niccole (a
freshman at Radford University) and Shelby (a 8th grader at Poquoson Middle
School. I am very blessed to live in the same town as my parents, brother and
sister, nieces and nephew, and friends whom I have had since I was a little
girl.I also have two papillions: Max and Oliver.
After the birth of my second daughter, Shelby I decided to return back
to college and obtain and receive my certification. I graduated from Norfolk
State University B.S. Indisciplinary Studies, minor in History. I have well
over 10 years of teaching experience. My hobbies include reading, shopping,
camping, and going to Field Hockey games. One person could describe me as a
person who loves to teach with enthusiasm and vigor!!
I believe that children are our future- I believe that each and every child
has the potential to bring unique and special attributes to the world. I will
help children to develop their potential by believing in theselves as
capable individuals.I will assist children in discovering who they are, so
they can express their own opinions and nuture their own ideas. I have a
vision of a world where people learn respect, accept and embrace differences
between us, as the core of what makes life so fascinating.
Teaching is a lifelong learning process of learning about new philosphies and
new strategies, learning from parents and community, learning from
colleagues, and especially children. Children have taught me to open up my
mind and heart to the joys, innocence and diversity of ideas in the world.
Because of this, I will never forget to smile with the new, cherish the old,
and laugh with the children.
