Dear Parents,
Please focus on the following areas in school this month:
1. Reading: Your child should be able summarize a story and identify the
theme.
2.Word Study: Have your child explain the features and practice with other
words that are not in their sort.
3. Written expression: Your child should be able to write a well thought out
paragraph. The paragraph should include a topic sentence, many detail
sentences using vivid verbs, adejectives, and a wrap up sentence. Reveiw
capitalization and punctuation. Please take the time to correct homework
writing assignments immediately. I call that the perfect teachable moment.
4. Math: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division/ Work on mastery
and speed/ Making change to a $10.00 bill
5. Science:Life Cycles, Plants, habitats
6. Social Studies: Economics
