Biography
I am originally from New York, but have lived in Virginia Beach since 1978.
My husband and I have three grown sons and live in Laurel Cove. I taught
first grade for 3 years before my children were born. I was very fortunate to
be able to stay home with them for several years. I came back to teaching in
1993 and have been at John B. Dey, teaching kindergarten and second grade,
since then.
My boys Scott, Tim, and Chris all went to John B. Dey, Great
Neck Middle, and Cox High School. Scott and Tim went on to JMU and Chris went
to UVA for their undergraduate college experience. We now have an "empty
nest"!
Scott went to law school at George Mason and is working at a law firm in
Virginia Beach. Hooray! He is married to Kim, a fellow attorney also
practicing in Virginia Beach.
Tim is married and lives with his wife, Nikki, in Towson, Maryland. They are
currently working with Young Life.
Chris, my youngest, has graduated from the University of Virginia and is
working as a financial analyst in northern Virginia and living in DC.
I am very proud of them all and constantly tell my students about all of
their little antics when they were in grade school.
My husband, Peter, is a national sales manager for Sprint Communications. He
often stops by school and visits the children.
I love my job and feel very fortunate to work in such a fine school. I hope
we will share an outstanding year together. Let's keep the lines of
communication open.
My mission, as a teacher, is to be sure that each student believes in
themselves, has a positive attitude, and is able to achieve his/her personal
best this year. My classroom will be a safe place for each child to grow and
shine!
