What is the Word Study program about?
The word study comes from a program called Word Matters. Students generate
personal lists tailored to their own needs. 5 words are content related and
5 are from their high frequency list. There are 2 bonus words. There will be
a quiz every Friday. Keep in mind Spelling or Word Study is a very small
portion of the Language Arts grade. Its up to students to study at home but
we do an activity just about every day with our words.

What is the Weekly Reader's Response?
Every week students will be responsible for completing the Reader's
Response. Each square is meant for a brief response to a book, magazine
article, etc. of a student's choice. There will directions each week on what
to do for each week.

What is Fun Friday?
Fun Friday is an academically based activity that is "fun" for children to
do. For instance we made ice cream to study matter and mixtures. Students
need $10 Daly Dollars to participate and a note will be sent home if a child
should not get Fun Friday. We give many oppurtunities for students to earn
ample $$ throughout the week!
