2. Hispanic Community Connections: when you complete an activity, please
turn in to me a brief Spanish description of the event, with proper
documentation and verification. Credit will be given during the 4th
9-weeks marking period.
3. Spanish Honor Society members: our school project for this year will
again be the tutoring program for any students in levels 1-4. See me if

A SHORT STORY, OR ANY OTHER DRAMATIC SCENE.
3. EACH GROUP WILL INTERPRET/RE-ENACT/RE-WRITE SEGMENTS OR PORTIONS OF THE
SELECTION TO FORM A MINIMUM 30-MINUTE ORAL PRESENTATION.
4. EACH MEMBER OF THE GROUP MUST HAVE EQUAL SPEAKING PARTS IN THE DRAMA,
OR AS FAIRLY CLOSE TO IT AS POSSIBLE.
5. GROUP MEMBERS WILL MEMORIZE THEIR PARTS TO NEAR PERFECTION, WITH EMPHASIS
ON THE THEMES AND TONES OF THE DRAMATIC INTERPRETATION.
6. PROPS/COSTUMES/ETC. CAN ENHANCE THE PRESENTATION, BUT ARE NOT REQUIRED.

can be folders, notebooks, binders, scrapbooks, or whatever is
most convenient for you to organize what you have done during the
course of this assignment.
E. Write self/peer/group evaluations and notes on a confidentially-
kept piece of paper after each class meeting. This evaluation
should be completed and placed in to your portfolio by the end
of the day each Wednesday that you teach.

CAPÍTULO 5, CONVERSACIONES CREADORAS SHEETS/PACKET: (TEST GRADE)
A. SPEAKING COMPONENT: in groups of no more than 3, you will be assigned
one of the escenas on pages 135-136 to act out. The rubrics for
grading are listed at the top of this page in the announcements
section; but I am also looking for appropriate interpretation of
the escena, good usage of vocabulary expressions, and good fluency.
THIS COMPONENT WILL COUNT AS 25% OF THE TEST GRADE. (5 minutes)
B. SPEAKING COMPONENT: in different groups of 4, you will engage in
a scene/conversation based on family time at home watching tele-
vision and other forms of entertainment. The conversation is
similar to what is given on pages 129-130 of the packets, but I
want a different approach. Rubrics for grading are based on
appropriate vocabulary expressions, strong interpretation of
the scene, and good fluency in the target language.
THIS COMPONENT WILL COUNT AS 50% OF THE TEST GRADE. (10 minutes)
C. WRITING COMPONENT: in selected groups of 2, each group will write
1 interpretation/narration of the picture sequences. Each partner
in the group will collaborate with the other to create a narrative
in Spanish that depicts accurately what is portrayed in the scenes.
You can use your notes sheets and your own dictionaries for help
in writing your narrative. And, use your own group creative approach
in writing...(it can be in essay form or dialogue form). Rubrics
for grading are the following: creativity in narration (25%),
good use of vocabulary expressions from the chapter (25%), good
collaboration in groups (25%), appropriate grammar structures (25%).

A. SPEAKING COMPONENT: in groups of no more than 3, you will be assigned
one of the escenas on pages 135-136 to act out. The rubrics for
grading are listed at the top of this page in the announcements
section; but I am also looking for appropriate interpretation of
the escena, good usage of vocabulary expressions, and good fluency.
THIS COMPONENT WILL COUNT AS 25% OF THE TEST GRADE. (5 minutes)
B. SPEAKING COMPONENT: in different groups of 4, you will engage in
a scene/conversation based on family time at home watching tele-
vision and other forms of entertainment. The conversation is
similar to what is given on pages 129-130 of the packets, but I
want a different approach. Rubrics for grading are based on
appropriate vocabulary expressions, strong interpretation of
the scene, and good fluency in the target language.
THIS COMPONENT WILL COUNT AS 50% OF THE TEST GRADE. (10 minutes)
C. WRITING COMPONENT: in selected groups of 2, each group will write
1 interpretation/narration of the picture sequences. Each partner
in the group will collaborate with the other to create a narrative
in Spanish that depicts accurately what is portrayed in the scenes.
You can use your notes sheets and your own dictionaries for help
in writing your narrative. And, use your own group creative approach
in writing...(it can be in essay form or dialogue form). Rubrics
for grading are the following: creativity in narration (25%),
good use of vocabulary expressions from the chapter (25%), good
collaboration in groups (25%), appropriate grammar structures (25%).
THIS COMPONENT WILL COUNT AS 25% OF THE TEST GRADE. (30 minutes)
D. SPEAKING COMPONENT (IF TIME PERMITS): in your own groups of 2,

Use a minimum of 30 vocabulary expressions from the Capítulo 1 sheets
and at least 4 different verb tenses, within a conversation of no more
than 5 minutes duration. Plan creative and fun ideas, with an authentic
approach.
