I actually grew up in Virginia Beach and attended Indian Lakes Elem. Then, I
went on to graduate from Cape Henry Collegiate. I earned my degree in
education from Virginia Tech and my Master's from ODU. I have been teaching
in Virginia Beach ever since, this will be my 20th year of teaching. Since
its opening in 1999, I have been at New Castle. I have been in "Who's Who
Among Educators" This year I was the 2nd finalist for our area in the
VA Lottery's Super Teacher award.
When I am not at school, I enjoy coming home to my own house full of kids.
My fabulous husband and I have been married for nineteen years, and we
have five wonderful children!
Four boys and one girl. My oldest son, Kyle - 18, is a huge Jeff Gordon --
fan!
Connor - 16 enjoys computers, legos, and animation.

14, well, all my girl wants to do is read, read,read 
. She's the dancer and straight A student

Colton is 5 and WILL tell you everything about trains you never knew.
Finally, there's Cameron - he's 3 - the comedian of the
group. His favorite toy is a stuffed Llama - yes, a llama, from the book
Llama, Llama Red Pjamas series. Funny book -- read it sometime. OK - too
bad -- I'll probably read it to you this year-- I do have it memorized. Oh, I
can't forget our dog, Checkers. She's a Shitzu-poodle mix -- a little thing.
They all leave me a little frazzled, so sometimes it's a little crazy around
here, but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's all smiles. Good thing my
parents are close by 
- they care for the two youngest during the school
day for us. We are so fortunate to have them there to help. And the little
ones just adore them! Not to metion, often my mom and dad will will cut out
and put together projects for my class. What a time saver! I also have one
sister, Meighan, who is a nurse at CHKD. She takes such great care of the
children there after their surgery.
So, in my spare time (that little bit between family, school, and animals -
don't forget the class pet Jelly the turtle says Connor) my hobbies are
scrapbooking,beading, and I love to go shopping. My family and I love to take
vacations which take us all across the United States.
I am a huge fan of Virginia Tech. Of course, since my husband loves the
Cincinnati Reds baseball team I have to have a favorite player --go Joey
Votto!
What a cutie! hehehe
A few other things that I love are movies, peppermint patties and my very
favorite is Starbucks --Peppermint, white chocolate mochas!! Click your heels
together three times and say, " There's no place like Starbucks! "
