I have twenty-one total years teaching and coaching varsity
football/wrestling in Virginia at the following High Schools: Halifax County,
E.C. Glass, Dinwiddie, and Nottoway. For the last nine years, I have served
here at Nottoway High. I am an active member of the Virginia State Coaches
Association as well as nationally certified by the American Sports and
Educational Programs Institute. I hold Virginia state certification in the
areas of sociology, special education, and driver's education. I am highly
qualified in the specific area of mathematics.
I graduated from Halifax County High School in June of 1985, then went on
to further my education at Ferrum College where I graduated in May of 1990
with a major in sports management. I also played football while there. In
addition, I have also earned special education/sociology teaching licensures
from Longwood University, and an endorsement in driver's education from
Lynchburg College. I am married to the former Kim Schmidt(she also teaches at
NHS-Biology)of Rice, VA and we reside in Farmville.
Students are encouraged to enhance their educational skills by utilizing
the specialized training they receive which will allow them to be afforded
the opportunity to lead a more successful and meaningful lifestyle.
