What is Saxon Math?

Saxon math is a math series that builds on prior concepts.  
Students never 
leave a concept. The skill is constantly reviewed and reinforced.

How much are test and homework worth?

Math tests count 70% of the grade and homework counts 30% of the 
grade.

How often is there a math test?

Math test are held after every 5 lessons with the exception of 
the first 
test which is after 10 lessons.

How may I contact the teacher regarding concerns?

I may be reached daily from 1-2 and from 3:00-3:30. Also, I may

How much homework do you give?

Generally, I do not give much homework.  Students are encouraged 
to complete 
their math assignments in class.  Students may have 4-5 problems 
left over 
from class.

What SOL tests do students take?

Our students take math, reading, writing, virginia studies and 
science.

What is the consequence for not completing math work?

If a student does not complete/ turn in their daily problem, they 
will be assigned to work study.  Work study is held during 
recess, and the student is required to complete the work and turn 
it in to the work study teacher.
