Welcome! My name is Marcia Martin and I am in my ninth year teaching at
Nottoway Intermediate School. For the last eight years, I taught fifth
grade Math & Science. For the 2009-2010 school year, I will be teaching
math on the Maroon Team with Ms. Giovannetti, Ms. Dixon, and Ms. Shorter.
I grew up and still live in Nottoway County. I received my Bachelor of
Art degree from Randolph Macon College in 2001. Also, I received my Master
of Education degree from VSU in 2007.
I have been married for eight years and have two children, 4 years and 20
months. Also, I have a dog named Domino! They keep me very busy. During
my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my children playing outside,
coloring, swimming at the pool and reading. You can check out my wonderful
boys in the Photo/DOCS page.
I look forward to another new and challenging school year!
My mission to create a classroom that is safe and provides students the best
opportunities to learn and achieve success. It is my belief that students
should have an educational atmosphere that is fun and challenging. Students
should critically think and apply classroom knowledge to real word
situation. This environment will create students that becoming life- long
learners. It is important to meet the varying learning
styles of all my students, therefore many different approaches to learning
are used. Students must be able to compete in a technology driven world and
in the classroom they will be exposed to the latest "cool" tech tools of
education.
