Do we need to purchase a uniform for P.E. ?

No. Uniforms are not required for P.E. at the Intermediate
School. I do ask that parents remind their child to wear tennis
shoes and comfortable clothes on P.E. day. We go outside for
activities unless the weather gets extremely hot or I think it
may be too cold. I am a huge fan of fresh air, so weather
permitting that's where you'll find us!

How will my child be graded in Health and P.E.?

Students are given a grade of S: Satisfactory, N: Needs
Improvement,or U: Unsatisfactory. We have health one week, and
the next will be an activity week. I do not test the students
when we have Health, and during activity weeks all I ask for is
cooperation and participation. They don't have to like a sport in
order to participate. I don't give U's or N's if a student lacks
skills, only if they lack effort.

What will my child be doing in P.E. and Health?

Your child will be covering the basic skills of football,
basketball, softball, volleyball and soccer, along with some
other fun activities thrown in along the way. The weather doesn't
always cooperate, and sometimes we may end up having an activity
in the gym or the P.E. room, but I guarantee we'll have fun!
