READ-UP
Students are encouraged to read 30 minutes each evening. Students should
select books that are included on the AR list so that points can be
generated. As of the beginning of the fourth six weeks, Read-Up will no
longer count as 15% of the total Language Arts grade. However, the reading
incentives which were put in place at the beginning of the school year are
still in effect. These include the raffle (held each six weeks), the Half
Way There party (50 points required to attend) and Read-Up in the Park (100
points required to attend).
We encourage 6th grade students to read books that at the 4th grade level or
higher except in special cases. Reading levels of books students select will
be monitored more closely this year.
