What is the Options Program?

The Options Program is a program for 14-18 year olds with 
developmental/intellectual disabilities.

I hear alot about Peer Mentors. Who are they and what do they do?

Peer Mentors are volunteers who give up 1, 2, 3 or 4 of their 8 day study hall time to 
volunteer in the role of tutor, coach, and friend.

How can I sign up to Mentor?

Sign-up sheets will be hanging on the bulletin board outside the Options 
classroom. Or speak with one of the Options teachers or stop by Room 220B to
speak with Mrs. Desmarais.

Can I get service hours for being a Peer Mentor?

Yes.  As of this year, all grades recieve service hours for peer mentoring. Additional service can be offered by volunteering at Special Olympics events which are held at PVI. Yes. AS of this year all grade levels will receive service hours for peer mentoring.

Is training provided?

YES!  Training is usually held at the beginning of each semester.  Listen 
for announcements, watch the TV monitor or see Mrs. Desmarais in Room 220B.
