Teen STAR Program

Course Objectives 

1.     Students will develop a respect for the gift of life through the teachings of the Catholic Church.

2.     Students will understand that the purpose of sexual activity is only complete within the totally committed and loving relationship of marriage.

3.     The students’ identity and self-esteem will be improved as they see themselves made in the image and likeness of God.

4.     Students will develop healthy sexual attitudes based on Scripture and Church teachings.

5.     Students will recognize the power of procreation.

6.     Students will understand the psychosexual differences between men and women.

7.     Students will recognize the importance of quality communications within the family and other relationships.

8.     Students will identify and interpret sexual messages portrayed by the media, peers and society.

9.     Students will be encouraged to identify and understand their own personal feeling and desires.

10. Students will become more aware of their own fertility.

11. Students will have a thorough Catholic understand of responsible sexual behavior based upon an individual’s state in life.
