What kind of snacks can we bring?

PLEASE NOTE WE ARE A PEANUT FREE CLASSROOM - PLEASE DO NOT SEND
IN ANY SNACKS WITH NUTS OR PEANUT BUTTER. We have lunch at 11:00
following recess at 10:40. Therefore our snack is in
the afternoon. Students need to bring a nutritious snack - fruit,
veggies, chesse sticks, etc. No chips or candy! We teach
nutrition in Health and try to model healthy living. Please bring
a snack on early dismissal days because
we will not have lunch.

Do we send homework home for absent students?

Please see the elementary student handbook for information on

They will have adequate time to make-up work, tests, etc. when
they return.
No advanced work will be given for planned student absences.

When do we need to start writing in cursive and with pen?

Third grade students begin by writing with pencil using print

Students
will write everything in cursive in January. Teachers will tell

How do you celebrate birthdays?

The lucky student who is celebrating their birthday has a free dress day. They will also be given a coupon to purchase an ice cream in the cafeteria at lunch. We will still sing to them to make their day special.
