It's almost VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!! Hard to believe, but Tuesday will be Valentine's Day!! Another favorite day in preschool and the day should be SO much fun! We will keep it relatively low key on Tuesday, but do some fun activities! If you haven't sent in a box for your child per Mrs. Benz's instructions....please do so!! We will need it to decorate...fun!!!
Last week we studied the letter W, Ms. Wonderful Words! The preschoolers were full of W sounds and words, our board was certainly not lacking for ideas! We talked about the weather and the many different forms it takes. Everyone should have received a sheet to track the weather this week! Too bad we couldn't do this LAST week....we had LOTS to talk about didn't we??!!! Strange weather....Mrs. Sening is staying inside today, bundled up by the fire....it is COLD and WINDY!!!! We also had fun talking about WORMS!!!!!!!! Yummy!!!!! lol It is pretty cold for worms right now and we had no rain last week, but I promised the kids AND Mrs. Spurr (SHE is REALLY looking forward to this!!!!) that when the weather gets warmer and it rains....we will go on a WORM HUNT!!! AND YES.....we will pick up worms, with our bare hands and check them out!! Not to worry, we'll "try" not to eat any.....and I promise we'll have plenty of wipes on hand...remember, Mrs. Spurr keeps me in line!!! lol The kids LOVED talking about the arctic waters on Thursday, particularly POLAR BEARS!!!! Our class has adopted a polar bear, and hopefully we will get the information in the mail soon!!! We talked about how they live, where they live and how to keep them safe....unfortunately, Mrs. Sening may not have been too clear!!!!! so sorry 
Some of them may have walked away thinking they couldn't watch TV or play computer games, or use the computer for fear of hurting the polar bears! But, hopefully everything was cleared up on Friday! Let them know...we are talking about conserving energy..by walking more, using less gas, less electricity, etc. Sooooo, using some is OKIE DOKIE!!!! Just not 24-7!!!!
Besides, we are doing our part as a class by adopting a polar bear!!! YIPEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This week we will take a break from our alphabet and not start a "new" letter! Rather, we will review the letters we have learned, continue with our numbers, and days of the week, and wait for it.....wait for it....wait..........CAREER DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, CAREER DAY is Thursday!!!!! Each Sailboat should think about what they want to be when they grow up!! Have them "decide", then they can prepare a "presentation"!!! A couple of sentences about their profession, what it is, what they do, what they like about that job, etc....they can also bring something in that symbolizes that job, or wear something that goes with it.....should be TONS OF FUN!!!!!!!!!!!
