Do you have homework on the weekend?

NO! I do not assign homework on the weekend, but I am aware that at times
life gets busy during the week, and do not mind at all if you decide to have
your child complete the week's homework over the weekend. As for weekend
reading, I would never discourage a child taking advantage of extra time to
get lots of punches!

Do you go over the homework in school?

No. Homework is reinforcement practice of what we are learning in school. It
is a tool designed to help you work with your child and discover their
weaknesses and strengths. The homework should have been checked by the
parents before it was returned. So everyone should have the correct answers
anyway. I do however glance at the work to make sure it is completed, and if
not I usually indicate I noticed it was missing with a stamp that
says "Incomplete."

Where do I sign for my child's homework?

In the past I have had parents sign by their child's writing assignments in
the HOGs. However, with the evolving coversheet for the homework that is
where I would like you to sign. I do like it when the parents also sign in
the HOG by their child's writing. It is a nice way to show them that you
read what they wrote- like an autograph of sorts.

Where do you get the gems?

I get them many places, but have found that Wal-Mart carries huge bags of
them for only $1.97. Thank you in advance if you would like to send some in!
The children always love it when I give away the gems they bring in that
their parents bought!

I have been serving the Tallwood families since September of 1997!
