Each afternoon your child will bring home his/her EAGLE
Notebook.
Please take the time to look through the
notebook for daily behavior, notes, flyers, and to record Nightly Reading.
|
|
|
As you open your child's EAGLE Notebook, the
first thing you'll see is the Bird's Nest. This is the perfect place to
put money and notes for the Office.
Please remember to put any money in an
envelope or baggie with your child's name and the purpose for the money (ex.
lunch, school store, book order, etc).
|
|
Inside the Bird's Nest you'll see the Communcation
Card. This is a quick and easy way to see if I have written a note to you!
If the side with the stickers is showing... look for a note!
|
If the directions side is showing... no need
to check! Please use this Communication Card to help me at school as well, by
flipping it to the side with the stickers when you have enclosed a note.
|
|
Our Class Handbook... the ABC's of
Kindergarten is next. Use this as a reference throughout the year as
questions may arise.
You'll also find a copy of the Monthly
Lunch Calendar in this section.
|
|
|
|
The Agenda pages were created to keep you
up-to-date on day to day happenings in our class. Each day we'll write a
message (or attach a label) about something that we did during the school day
or a reminder for the following day.
Your child will also mark his/her
behavior with either a green
smiley face, yellow
straight face, or red
frowny face. Please initial this box
each evening and discuss any unfavorable behavior with your child.
|
|
To help our Kindergarteners find the correct page
in their Agenda, we added The Eagle Spot. This page is always moved to
the current week.
Remind your child to turn to the Eagle
Spot... that way they will be on the right page every time!

Nightly Reading Pocket

coming soon!
|
The Nightly Reading Section outlines our
Kindergarten Homework... reading 20 minutes every night. You'll find
directions, helpful strategies, and words of encouragement.
Don't forget to help your child color the
appropriate section of the Reading Clocks to record minutes read! Starting at
the 12... each section is 5 minutes of time (ex. if you read for 30 minutes,
you'll color 1/2 of the clock).
|
|
The next section is for Home-School
Correspondence. This is just one of the ways we leave the lines of
communication open between home and school (you can also email or call me).
|
This is the log we use for Home-School
Correspondence. Please leave the pages in the EAGLE Notebook in case we need
to reference our communication.
|
|
|
The Purple Folder is where you'll
look for class work and projects, as well as class and school flyers and
information.
Please help your child keep his/her EAGLE
Notebook organized by checking through and emptying this folder every night.
|
|
The pockets are labeled so you will know which
papers should be LEFT at home...
|
and which papers your kindergartener needs to
bring RIGHT back to school.
