EAGLE Notebooks

Each night, before we drift off for

We share a special organizational tool with our families...

Everything A Great Learner (needs) Everyday!

Kindergarteners are responsible for bringing their EAGLE Notebooks home each afternoon and returning them each morning. We take very good care of our notebooks since we will be using them all year.

Let's Take a Look Inside!

Each afternoon your child will bring home his/her EAGLE Notebook.

Please take the time to look through the notebook for daily behavior, notes, flyers, and to record Nightly Reading.

As you open your child's EAGLE Notebook, the first thing you'll see is the Bird's Nest. This is the perfect place to put money and notes for the Office.

Please remember to put any money in an envelope or baggie with your child's name and the purpose for the money (ex. lunch, school store, book order, etc).

Our Class Handbook... the ABC's of Kindergarten is next. Use this as a reference throughout the year as questions may arise.

You'll also find a copy of the Monthly Lunch Calendar in this section.

The Agenda pages were created to keep you up-to-date on day to day happenings in our class. Each day we'll write a message (or attach a label) about something that we did during the school day or a reminder for the following day.

Your child will also mark his/her behavior with a capital Q (for Quality Student)! Otherwise, he/she will mark the 1st letter of the quality they had difficulty demonstrating (ex. Listen, Be Respectful, Work hard, Be Nice). Please initial this box each evening and discuss any unfavorable behavior with your child.

To help our Kindergarteners find the correct page in their Agenda, we added The Eagle Spot. This page is always moved to the current week.

Remind your child to turn to the Eagle Spot... that way they will be on the right page every time!

Nightly Reading Pocket
photo coming soon!

The Nightly Reading Section outlines our Kindergarten Homework... reading 20 minutes every night. You'll find directions, helpful strategies, and words of encouragement.

Don't forget to help your child color their RAH, RAH, Read At Home! Chart. Each bar equals 20 minutes of reading.

The Purple Folder is where you'll look for class work and projects, as well as class and school flyers and information.

Please help your child keep his/her EAGLE Notebook organized by checking through and emptying this folder every night.

The pockets are labeled so you will know which papers should be LEFT at home...

and which papers your kindergartener needs to bring RIGHT back to school.

Our class LOVES using our EAGLE Notebooks and
we are becoming more organized students too!!

Note for Teachers: Are you interested in using EAGLE Notebooks in your classroom? Start by doing a Google search for MOOSE Notebooks or MOOSE Binders... you'll find tons of ideas to get you started (there are also BEE Books, BEAR Binders, etc). Looking for an acronym for your mascot? Try looking on Mrs. Smith's list!
