When does my child need a note from home?

** If your child is going home from school by different means (ex. usually
rides bus, riding day care van today), I need a note from you. I also need
a note if your child is riding the same bus, but getting off at a different
stop.

** If your child is absent or tardy, a note is required describing the
reason (or your child will be marked as having an unexcused absence).
Please put the note in the Bird's Nest of the EAGLE Notebook so that it can
be sent to the office.

What homework does my child have each week?

** EVERY NIGHT your child needs to read for at least 20 minutes. Please
color in the sections on the Reading Clocks to show the number of minutes
read.

** EACH WEEK your child will be invited to select a Literacy Work Bag.
These canvas bags combine fiction and non-fiction stories as well as
activities to practice literacy (Writing and Reading) skills.

** EACH MONTH your child will be asked to complete a Monthly Family Project
together. These are great ways to work together as a family and have some
quality time together. We will share our projects in class (and practice
our oral language skills at the same time).

What can I do to celebrate my child's birthday at school?

** Birthdays are so special to our Kindergarteners!! We love to celebrate
this special event. If you choose to send in a treat to share, we ask that
you select a healthy treat (in support of PWC Health and Wellness
Initiative).
** Some suggestions are: fruit, veggies, pretzels, popcorn, goldfish, teddy
grahams, granola bars, etc, or even pencils or stickers would be a good
choice.
** Since snacks are enjoyed during our lunch time (11:55 AM—12:25 PM),
please make sure the snack can be served by your kindergartener
independently or with little assistance. Please give at least one day's
notice, if possible... thanks!
