Explore Our Room!

Come On In...
We'd Be Happy to Show You Around!

Welcome to Room 12!

Come right in our door and we'll give you the grand tour!!

Turn to the left and you'll see our Math manipulatives and supplies are stored here. We also have our class mailbox and individual student mailboxes.

Turn to the right and you can see our Science Work Station straight ahead! You can see our cubbies across the room.

Take just a few steps in and you'll see our learning tables. Mrs. Cornwell made us colored chair pockets for each table.

Here's our Meeting Place where we meet as a group. Every morning we choose 3 names to be the "couch potatoes" and sit in this special place. Everyone else can choose a special letter book to sit on.

This is the view from the other direction. You can see our classroom easel as well as our Book Boxes (which are on the shelves by the chalkboard).

The drawers under the easel store our white boards and markers, chalkboards, and other supplies we use frequently. Our book shelves are beginning to be filled with stories and you can see our big books as well.

Behind the easel is our Magnet Work Station.

The back wall is our Word Wall. You can see the Alphabet Work Station (under the Word Wall) and the Drama Work Station (to the left).

This is our Word Work Station. It backs against a storage island that holds many of our Literacy Materials on one side and puzzles on the other. Our blue Math tubs will soon be filled with books too!

Here's a better view of some of our puzzles and blocks.

This second storage island houses the rest of our puzzles and small manipulatives. The children each have a crayon drawer to store their crayons, scissors, and a glue stick (the remaining drawers are on the other side for better traffic flow).

Our guided reading table is in the back of the room (with a good view of all areas). The large drawers are labeled for each level and materials (like magnetic letters) are readily available. The tall cabinet has now become our Name Wall!

We love our new computer tables and even more exciting... we now have 4 computers!

Just like the other areas of our room, the view is "evolving" as the students are helping to create their own learning environment!  We've displayed the county required alphabet as well as our student created Quality Student, Quality Teacher, and Class Vision and Mission.

Here's a closer view of our Science Work Station. There are so many interesting non-fiction stories to choose!

This is the Writing Work Station where all materials (including post-its, envelopes, paper, etc) are right where you need them.

The yellow wire storage is for glue, glue sticks, boo-boo tape, hole punchers, etc. You can see the Math Tubs again to the left.

My Teaching Partners use this table for small groups and individual instruction. They each have a set of drawers for their supplies.

Behind the small groups table is our Lunch Graph and...

Behavior Frogs.

Back by the door is our sink and bathroom. We have a Stop and Go sign that signals if it's ok to enter. Mrs. O'Brien even found us a neat gadget that fits on our faucet and turns it into a water fountain!

Before you go, we have just a few more things to point out! Here's a better view of our Book Boxes under the front chalkboard (you can see our Homeworkopoly board, 100's chart, and Investigations calendar).

Look straight up and you'll see our Color Train!
We searched through magazines to find just the right pictures to represent each color.

Across the back wall you'll see our Number Wall and Names Alphabet that we created.
Keep checking back... our room will continue to grow and change just like we will!!
