Learn More About Me!
I have taught
kindergarten, first, and second grade in Prince William County Schools for the
past seven years. I'm very excited to begin my eighth year in the school
division and my fifth year at Marshall Elementary! I'm especially THRILLED to
teach full-day kindergarten!!
I grew up in Pocono
Lake in northeastern Pennsylvania.
I guess my love of science and exploring nature grew out of living in the Pocono
Mountains with my
parents and two brothers!
I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in
Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education from Bloomsburg
University in Bloomsburg,
Pennsylvania.
I received my Master's Degree from the IET (Initiatives in Educational
Transformation) program at George
Mason University.
My husband Jeff and I just
celebrated our 5th anniversary this summer. We welcomed our
daughter in April 2009!! We live in Manassas
and have two cats, Smokey and Leo. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time
with my family, designing this website, going out to the movies, and playing
board games.

Teaching Philosophy
When provided with respect and encouragement, all children can succeed when
guided to appropriate learning goals. My students know they
are valued members of a classroom community where they are given numerous
opportunities to flourish.
I understand the importance of compassion and consistent patience when
fostering a caring, learning environment. My classroom is
an exciting place, filled with enthusiasm and laughter, highlighted with
kindness and understanding, and built on a foundation of mutual trust.
