Annual Fall Conference (November 19 @Larkspur Middle School)- Dr. Timothy Rasinski will serve as the keynote speaker. He will address "The Art and Science of Teaching" which supports balanced assessment. His keynote will discuss using scientific data to assess students as well as anecdotal data which he refers to as the "the art of teaching." He will also offer a break-out session on differentiating word study which relates to addressing individual needs. Other speakers from throughout the district will offer break-out sessions focusing on many different aspects of literacy from K-12.

February Meeting - Technology and Reading Event- coordinating with several local VBRC employees to share current technology options (Promethean, Blabberize, Wikis, Blogs,...) to support the technology Vanguard area. 

March 15-17- State Conference in Richmond-
Blast into 21st Century Literacy


Thursday, March 22, 2012- Early Literacy Speaker- Collaborate with the city and public libraries. Central Public Library
Board Meeting is at 6pm. Program is at 7pm. 

Spring Banquet-  May 23- Cavalier Hotel
