We have been practicing writing our numbers 1-9. To help students learn we
say the following rhymes. Have your child write the numbers on paper, in the
air, paint them, etc. to practice this skill.
#1- A line straight down is fun, that's the way we make a one.
#2- Around and back on the railroad track, twoooo, twoooo, twoooo
#3- Around a tree, around a tree, that's the way we make a three.
#4- Down and over, and down once more, that's the way we make a four.
#5- Go down and around, then you stop. Finish the five with line on top.
#6- Make a curve, then a loop, there are no tricks to make the six.
#7- Across the sky and down from heaven, that's the way we make a seven.
#8- Make an S, don't be late, go back home and close the gate, that' the way
we make an eight.
#9- A loop and line, that's the way we make a nine.
