HLA-Healthy Lifestyle Advocates is an ASB club formed in 2005 by Camas High
School students. The mission of this club is to promote wellness in the 5
aspects of health to students, staff, and the local community. The 5 aspects
of health include:
SPIRITUAL - The ability to discover one’s basic purpose in life, by
experiencing love, joy, peace, connectedness, and reverence for life.
PHYSICAL- A body toned to its maximum performance potential, and able to meet
the demands of one’s daily lifestyle.
INTELLECTUAL - A mind exploding with wonder and curiosity, and the ability to
learn new things
EMOTIONAL - Creating and maintaining peace of mind by dealing effectively
with one’s emotions.
SOCIAL - Creating and maintaining healthy relationships that lead to a sense
of love and belonging.
HLA sponsors activities throughout the year such as:
-Wellness Fair
-HLA Week
-Nutrition Month in March
-TV-Turn-off Week in April
-Selling healthy smoothies for staff and students
Meetings take place after school every 1st and 3rd Monday each month and meet
in the Sports Medicine room. All people are welcome to join!
