PALS Teacher
2009-2010 School Year
Clallam Bay School Elementary
Dear Parents/Guardians:
We would like to take this opportunity to say hello to our new students and
parents as well as our returning ones. We hope that you are having a great
summer! We are very excited to be teaching a multiage program this year and
we are looking forward to the start of a new, or continued partnerships with
you in the education of your children. Our program is called PALS-Partners
and Learners Sharing. We are committed to making all students successful in
our classrooms. We know that with your help and involvement we will all have
a successful and fun year. The design of our lessons will enable us to give
your child as much individualized attention as possible. We believe in an
active approach to learning that builds upon reading, writing, communication,
and critical thinking skills. Our classrooms will be fun and filled with
learning opportunities.
Each student will be given a folder ( or one of your choice) that will be
sent home daily. The folders will contain their completed work from that
day. We will be sending home a newsletter which will include important
classroom information. So be sure to check your child’s folder daily to be
kept up to date on what is happening.
We can be reached in the classroom at 7:30 to 8:30 AM daily or directly after
school if any questions or concerns arise at 963-2093 Mrs. Indendi or 963-
2184 Mrs. Erickson. We welcome any information that will help make this a
successful year for your child.
Our classrooms will not effectively function as an educational setting if
students do not respect themselves and the rights of others. We will not
allow any student to display behaviors which are inappropriate for an
effective learning environment. Therefore, we have a few simple classroom
rules. We give all students adequate notice of the rules and expect them to
comply:
1. Always raise your hand when you want to share.
2. Keep all body parts to your self.
3. Know the difference between reporting and tattling for the safety of
yourself and others.
For this school year the following are the supplies that we would like your
child to have on the first day of school:
~1 boxes of tissue. Cold season is always a challenge.
~1 tub of chlorox type wipes.
Since student’s success in our classroom will be achieved through our mutual
communication, cooperation and effort, we welcome the opportunity to share in
this partnership with you and your child. Parents are always welcome in our
classroom and we encourage you to visit (please follow school procedure for
visitations). We look forward to this new school year together.
Sincerely,
Lauren Indendi and Cheryl Erickson
