Welcome to Greenwood!
Greenwood Elementary School is a small school on the south end of Ft. Lewis just across Interstate-5 from the small town of DuPont. We're part of the Clover Park School District which serves the community of Lakewood, along with our Army and Air Force families in the south Puget Sound region.
We welcome students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. Students in Grade 6 through 8 attend Woodbrook Middle School, which is just outside the Logistics Center gate to McChord AFB. Lakes High School serves students in Grades 9-12.
We hope you're very curious about our school and our community, and we have provided links on this page to some resources that we hope satisfy that curiosity. If you explore this site you'll also find information about our learning programs here, about our staff, school policies, curriculum, schedule, etc. If there's information you'd like us to post on this site, please just let us know. We hope your time with us feels well spent and that when you leave Greenwood you carry us in your hearts.

Dear Greenwood Families,
May is statewide Measurements of Student Progress testing month. All students in grades 3-5 will be testing beginning May1 through May 11 at Greenwood. It is very important that students arrive on time, get plenty of rest and start the day with breakfast to give them a brain boost to do their very best on the MSP.
The annual JBLM Volunteer Luncheon on April ¬¬¬ 26th was attended by more than 15 volunteers and staff. All the efforts given to Greenwood by our volunteers are very much appreciated by all the students and staff here at school.
May also starts our planning for next year. Our Kindergarten Orientation on Monday, May 14th at 9:45, will kick off our early fall registration.
Mid May we will be sending home the Intent to Return survey that assists us in planning for next year’s classroom needs. Please be sure and send them back promptly.
Our 2nd MEET UP will take place after the Awards Assembly on May 24tth. This is an opportunity to share ideas and asks questions. School age children will have adult supervisor in the gym during the meeting.
I would like to extend an invitation to all our parents and guardians to join in the fun of our annual Field Day on June 22. This event goes all day with breaks. There are many activities to keep the children busy and engaged. There is a break for lunch and resting.
A reminder for the next few weeks, talk to your students about the importance of maintaining good attendance and to continue to work hard. Report card grades are not completed until the last few days of school and we want students to do their very best right up to the very end. NEVER STOP LEARNING!
Greg Wilson, Principal
