We have scheduled three orientations for 2012: March 28, April 25, May 30, all at 6 p.m. We strongly encourage all students and parents who are interested in attending Harrison Prep to come to an orientation. We will begin enrollment with the first orientation. Enrollment packets will not be available until that time.

Also, during the months of April and May, our counselor will visit each elementary school and middle school in Clover Park, to share our programs with 5th and 8th grade students who may be interested in Harrison Prep.

Battle of the Books!
Click here to visit our Library's Home page
The Battle of the Books is a fun reading competition where students are exposed to a variety of genres. Students will form teams of 4. They can be across grade levels (within 6th, 7th and 8th for the middle school, and 9th - 12th for high school). Their goal, as a team, is to become experts on the books so they can answer as many questions as possible during the competition. The winning team from HP will go on to compete against the winning teams in our other district middle or high schools.

We are proud to share that our HP middle school team won district last year! We have a plaque in the library for the year.

When a team is formed, one member should come to the library to register their team. Only registered battle participants may check out the Battle Books until the competition is over. HP school battles will be in March (working on the date).

This list of titles is on our HP website under "Library Corner" --> "Battle of the Books," along with the rules of the competition. It's also on the website under "Friday News and Information."

If you have any questions, please let Ms. Hippert know!

Health Concern

Please look at the District Medical Guidelines under the School Policies tab (lefthand side of this page) to judge whether your child is too sick to come to school. Remember that we all want to stay well. Thank you for supporting that goal!

Facebook, MySpace and Students
Facebook - Safety for Parents
Harrison Prep wants to remind parents to monitor their children's use of online social media such as Facebook and Myspace. Online issues between students can follow them into the classroom. While HP deals with issues that follow students into the classroom, we cannot police every child's online interactions at home. Many of the issues we are seeing involve children that are younger than the Age Restrictions permitted on these websites. Please monitor your child's internet use, and be aware of what they are doing online. Additional tips are located on the attached webpage from Facebook.
