Enrollment Process
Harrison Prep is now accepting applications for out-of-district students. We are currently full in 6th grade, but have openings in all other grade levels.

We continue to accept 6th grade applications from in and out of district students, but they will be placed on the waiting list.

Principal's Message

Principal Photo
What a journey! I've been doing a lot of reflecting lately on the number of fantastic students, families, community members, and dedicated professionals that I've been able to work with, laugh with, problem solve with, and celebrate with over the course of this year. It's hard to believe that there are less than 50 school days left of this year of learning and growing together.

I'm so proud that the family atomosphere that we've built our reputation on still thrives here at Harrison Prep. We continue our commitment to provide students with a quality education that doesn't lose sight of quality of daily living, community building, and relationship building.

Thank You for your ongoing support. We couldn't do it without you.

Please Return Your Waiver Forms
All students were given waiver forms to take home last week. They need to be signed and returned by May 10. Every student at HP needs to have a signed waiver form every year.

We are a school of choice, and as such, students are required to turn in a waiver releasing them from their resident school and requesting Harrison Prep. Please ask your student for their form, fill it out and sign it, and return it right away. Thank you!

Harrison Wins Achievement Award Again!
Click here to learn more about the Achievement Index
Harrison Prep has again won a Washington State Achievement Award for Closing the Achievement Gap. This award tracks data over a three-year period, to see whether students of color or low-income are improving on state tests. We have won this award two years in a row, which means that we have continued to improve over the last four years. This award is a testament to our teachers, who continually work with HP students to help them learn the basics and go beyond.

We will be honored at a ceremony April 30 in Covington, along with the other CPSD schools who received awards.

ID Badges are Mandatory

All staff and students at HP are required to wear their ID badges every day at school. This is a security measure to keep everyone safe. HP has free lanyards for students, or they may use one of their own. All students received a free ID card after having their picture taken. If the first one is lost, replacements are $5. Students should check the small lost and found in the library if their card is missing.

Facebook, MySpace and Students
Facebook - Safety for Parents
Harrison Prep wants to remind parents to monitor their children's use of online social media such as Facebook and Myspace. Online issues between students can follow them into the classroom. While HP deals with issues that follow students into the classroom, we cannot police every child's online interactions at home. Many of the issues we are seeing involve children that are younger than the Age Restrictions permitted on these websites. Please monitor your child's internet use, and be aware of what they are doing online. Additional tips are located on the attached webpage from Facebook.

Military Families
Click here for a link to JBLM's Student Liaison's Office
We recognize that a great number of families at HP are military. We'd like to do a better job of aligning our communication and expectations with your strengths and concerns. Please contact Casey Silbaugh at csilbaug@cloverpark.k12.wa.us about specific needs we might not be aware of. Thanks for choosing HP!
