Our 6th grade season is over, and our last games are this week. We will have
our team assembly at 3:15 in the cafeteria on Friday, March 29th. Pictures
will take place immediately after the assembly.
If you are leaving early for Spring Break, or otherwise cannot attend, please
come see me (Mr. Wood) and I will give you your certificate when you return.
Thank you parents and families for all your efforts this season in supporting
your children here at Hudtloff.

For our first 5 Varsity and JV games, the Varsity will be going first, and
the JV right after. Starting with the 6th game, the JV will be going first
and the Varsity will follow.
UPDATE: February 8, 2013
Welcome to the boys' basketball season! We have had a great turn out this
season!
Even more exciting, we will not need to cut any of our athletes as our
Athletic Director is looking for games so that we may have several teams.
We are presented with some problems however. Many athletes and 1 gymnasium
presents our coaches with quite a challenge for practice court time. We have
recently decided to split our practices and have an hour-long study hall for
our athletes when they are not on the court. We are hoping this will help our
student athletes do better in class, and increase their academic skills as
well as their basketball skills. We look forward to doing this next year with
the girls' basketball team as well, as we usually have great numbers for
their season too.
The biggest issue is when there is no game and all the athletes are in the
gym at the same time. It is not possible for us scrimmage all of the
athletes during one practice. Once the season starts, however, this problem
will be less previlent as we have so many games.
I (Coach Wood) will be coaching the Varsity and running practices. Mike
Lauritzen will be the Junior Varsity coach, and returning to our coaching
staff this year is Ryan Heffernan. Ryan is a teacher here at Hudtloff and has
coached youth basketball for 3 years and has coached 5 sports in his young
career. We are very excited to have him with us.
Head Coach Jason Wood, Assistants Coach Michael Lauritzen and Coach Ryan
Heffernan.
