About The Teacher

Mrs. Grabenkort is thrilled about the opportunity to teach both fourth and 
fifth graders AGAIN this year at JDZ!  She taught a 4/5 blend for the last 
two years at JDZ, and before that taught sixth grade at JDZ after moving to 
the area in August, 2005 from Chicago, Illinois, where she taught at Walt 
Disney Magnet School. Mrs. G has a bachelor's degree in Education from 
Valparaiso University and a master's degree in School Leadership and 
Administration from Concordia University. During the 2008-09 school year 
Mrs. G will be persuing National Board Certification in Teaching.
Outside of school Mrs. Grabenkort is an avid reader, enjoys running with her 
dogs, swimming, training for triathlons, cooking, pilates, backpacking, 
hiking, rock climbing, eating healthy meals (and chocolate), and working in 
her gardens.
