Is it possible the school year is almost over? I really don't want this great
group of 2nd graders to leave our room! We have received so many compliments
from other teachers, students... on how well these students behave and
contribute to Jason Lee. I'm very proud of each and every one of them.
As you know we have been getting ready for "3rd grade". We've transitioned
from "learning to read" to "reading to learn" (comprehension). It is crucial
for your child to be practicing his/her reading, writing, math...over the summer
months. By this time of year your child should be reading at 90 words per
minute and comprehending the material.
We are finishing up our Soils and Butterfly units in Science. Your child just
completed the district wide writing prompt and we'll be finishing up our final
unit tests.
We will also be having an end of the year "Field Day" with Mr. Hill. We will
be needing parent helpers to run the stations and will send home more
information when Steve gives us a date and time for this fun day.
Thank you so much for making this such a great year!
Mrs. Anderson
