Past Focus Areas

2006-2007 Gym Floor Cougar

PTA, in cooperation with school
administration, commissioned
artist Jeff Rader to design a
new cougar logo and paint the
logo at center court on the new
gymnasium floor. Rader attended
Jason Lee and was the art teacher
for a time.

2006-2007 Electronic Reader Board

PTA purchased an electronic
reader board for the new Jason
Lee. The reader board
incorporated the new mascot logo
and new school colors. Once
operational, the reader board
became an effective communication
tool for the school and PTA.

2005-2006 Literacy

For a second year, the focus area
title was, "Literacy for
Every Jason Lee Child." Several
literacy proposals were funded
including the purchase of
dictionaries and thesauruses for
the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades.
PTA Granted literacy funds
totaling $7,400 for the year.

2004-2005 Literacy

The focus area title
was, "Literacy for Every Jason
Lee Child." Several literacy
proposals were funded primarily
for the purchase of books for the
reading room, classrooms, and
musical instruction. PTA Granted
literacy funds totaling $8,000
for the year.

2002-2003 Update Library Collection

PTA Granted $9,000 for the
purchase of new books to replace
outdated titles. In addition,
book fair proceeds were taken in
the form of books adding to
the number of new titles for the
library collection.

2001-2002 Music Program

PTA Granted funds for the
purchase of marimbas for
the Jaon Lee "Shake it Up"
Marimba Ensemble. Many students
have enjoyed learning to play as
part of the "Shake it Up" team.

1999-2001 Technology

For two consecutive years the PTA
focused on Technology at Jason
Lee Elementary for the purpose
of providing funds to create a
student computer lab. Over the
two year period, 30 computers
were purchased to establish the
initial lab. PTA annually
provides funding for several
replacement computers to help
keep the technology current.
