What if I'm going to miss a day of school?

You will have homework. Typically I give you 1 day per each absent day; so, for example, if you are absent 2 days, you will get 2 days to turn late work in. If you were absent 5 days, you will have 5 days to turn in late work. Expect to miss a recess or 2 so that I can talk over the lessons you missed! Sad you were absent!

With battle of the books, will the children need to read all the books or about how many average for 3rd grader?

This varies with each "team." Some teams have all members read every book; other teams split up the books, so each member reads about 8.

When do the books need to be read by?

The "Battle" starts in February for Lakeland, so books should be read by the first part of January so they can begin reviewing them. The district "Battle" is usually mid-March.
