WELCOME BACK!
Mrs. T. spent a lot of time getting the
C-2 classroom ready for the first day of school! The photos below show what
our room looked like right before school began in September. Our classroom
theme is BASEBALL, and we are called "The
Second Grade All-Stars"! There
are four table groups, and each group has a baseball name - Group 1 is called
"First Base", Group 2 is called "Second Base", Group 3 is called "Third Base",
and Group 4 is called "Home Plate". You can see each table group's name sign
hanging above their group. We call our class meeting area (which is a large
space in one corner of our classroom) "The All-Stars Dugout". There are
baseball tablecloths at the tables where some of our classroom library book
baskets are located. There are other baseball decorations hanging around the
classroom as well!
GETTING READY:
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL:
"WELCOME BACK" ASSEMBLY
Principal Hunter and the Maple Staff
welcomed the students back with a special assembly on the third day of school.
Mrs. Hunter shared a PowerPoint presentation with the children about the
school rules.
eSurg Visit, First Day
of School!
The C-2 students had surprise visitors on
the first day of school! During the summer, C-2 had been "adopted" by a local
company, eSurg. eSurg had read our ad on the Adopt-A-Classroom.org website,
and adopted us for the school year! On the first day of school, employees from
eSurg (a medical products supply company located in Pioneer Square) brought
each child in the class a brand new backpack filled with school supplies! Here
are photos from eSurg's special visit:
FUNDRAISER ASSEMBLY
In early September, the entire school
attended a special assembly to learn about the upcoming fall fundraiser. Maple
students sold items from the Elliott Bay fundraising catalogue to earn money
to help pay for the cost of field trips and assemblies.
