blanket to school.
OPEN HOUSE, FEB.
11, 2009
Maple families got to visit C-2 and
C Pod at an Open House held on Feb. 11. It was nice to see so many
visitors! The C-2 students each had a checklist of items/activities that
they were supposed to show to their family members. The students were
especially proud to share their book reports (hanging from the ceiling
lights) and their "Voyage of the Mimi" science notebooks.
VALENTINE'S DAY
PARTY - FEB. 13, 2009
C-2 celebrated Valentine's Day by
having a party on Feb. 13! The students made and decorated beautiful
Valentine card holder envelopes. During the party, the students got to
hand out their Valentine cards and put them in the envelopes on each
child's desk. Then everyone got to make a fruit parfait made out of
vanilla yogurt, apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries, and grape nuts
cereal (provided by the Eat Better, Feel Better program and Ms.
Rossman!). Thank you to the parents who came and helped the students
make their fruit parfaits! Thank you to the students who gave me such
wonderful Valentine cards! You made me feel very special!
100th DAY OF
SCHOOL- FEB. 23, 2009
We celebrated the 100th Day of
School on Monday, Feb. 23! Each student brought in 100 of some item. All
of the wonderful 100 items were placed on display at the back of C Pod.
We made a visit down to the Maple front office to share our 100 things
(Thank you for the licorice, Principal Hunter!).
AQUARIUM FIELD
TRIP - FEB. 27, 2009
We visited the Seattle Aquarium on
Feb. 27, 2009. We were excited to see the newly remodeled and updated
Aquarium and its exhibits! When we arrived at the Aquarium, we went to a
hands-on tidepool creatures class. We got to "one finger touch" many
interesting tidepool creatures, such as sea urchins, sea anemones, and
scallops. After our class, we got to tour all of the exhibits at the
Aquarium, as well as eat lunch. We especially enjoyed watching the
divers in the large tanks! We'd like to thank those parents who helped
to chaperone on this terrific field trip!
