HOMEWORK:
Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday in C-2.
Homework assignments are typically as follows:
MONDAY: Spelling - copy the List Words, Bonus Words, and Test Sentences for the
current week's spelling unit
TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY: Math assignment that covers what we are currently learning in
class AND
Language Arts - this is usually a writing/reading/comprehension assignment and also
includes a 20 minute blue reading slip stapled on to Wednesday's homework paper which needs to
be signed by a grown-up at home.
THURSDAY: Spelling - review assignment to help you study for Friday's spelling test
In addition, there are Everyday Math "Homelink" worksheets that will be sent home (not always every
day). Please practice your Everyday Math facts "Fact Triangles" every night that are in the ziplock
baggie. If you have lost your Fact Triangles, please ask your parents if they can get you a set of
addition/subtraction flash cards from the store (or make your own at home).
FINALLY, remember to read EVERY night for 20 minutes (or longer). Reading skills
improve with repeated practice!
Completed homework assignments are checked off on the daily homework chart that hangs in the
classroom.
If you are unable to complete your homework assignment for some reason, just have your parent
WRITE ME A SHORT NOTE, send me an E-MAIL, or leave me a PHONE MESSAGE (206-252-8338) and
I will have you turn in your homework the next day.
If I do not hear from your parents, you will need to complete your homework at recess time.
