On Nov. 21, 2006 Mrs. T. received the surprise of her life!
During the Blue Ribbon School Flag/Plaque Presentation assembly,
Mrs. T. was surprised by representatives from the Seahawks, Symetra
Financial, and Vulcan, Inc. with the "Heroes In The Classroom" Award!
You can read about the award here and
here or
here.
Below are some photos from this special assembly. The highlight
of the assembly was when Mrs. T's favorite Seahawk football player,
Grant Wistrom, appeared from behind the stage curtains to present
her with the award! Grant went around the entire Maple gym, high-
fiving as many students as he could reach. Afterwards, he answered
questions from the students. He was a big hit with the Maple students
and staff! You can watch the "Evening Magazine" video clip here.
In addition to the award, Mrs. T. received two tickets to the Nov. 27, 2006
Seahawks/Green Bay Packers football game and gift certificates to
purchase books and supplies for her classroom.
