Dear C-2 Parents,
It was nice to see so many of you at Maple's annual Multi-Ethnic Dinner last Thursday! Thank you for signing up for your child's November parent-teacher conference at the dinner. (If you weren't able to make it to the dinner, I will be sending home a yellow conference appointment letter with your child on Monday, Nov. 2.)
We had a fantastic time on our first field trip of the year last Tuesday! A very special thank you to the many parents who joined us on our visit to Sea-Tac Airport. This field trip was provided free to us by the generosity of the Port of Seattle. Unfortunately, the Port has had to cut their budget, and this field trip will no longer be offered to elementary students. I would encourage you to please contact the Port Commissioners and ask them to somehow find a way to fund this terrific educational field trip. Here are their addresses:

Mark your calendar: Parent-Teacher conferences will be held all day on Nov. 23 and 24, and on the morning of Nov. 25 (these are the three days prior to the Thanksgiving Break). Your child will NOT have school on Nov. 23, 24, and 25 so that Maple's teachers can meet with parents. If you have any questions about the conference dates/schedule, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks to the generous donors who adopted the C-2 All-Stars this year, I was recently able to purchase a brand new large, colorful carpet for the "All-Stars Dugout" meeting area (See the photo below.) ! Thank you, donors!! You are wonderful!! We absolutely LOVE our rug!!
