Is late work accepted in 7th grade? Late work is not accepted in 7th grade. It is our responsibility to teach good habits that lead to success. (Work not turned in on time is given 1 point to reflect the fact that the assignment has been turned in.) We do realize there are emergencies in life. Each quarter you will receive two late work "passes". One is for 100% credit and one is for 50% credit on the late assignment. Staple your pass to the late work in order to receive 100% or 50% on your late assignment. How do I make-up work if I am absent? At the beginning of the year, students choose one "Study Buddy" to write down assignments if they are absent. Upon returning to school, students contact their Study Buddy for the previous day's work. Students are given one day to make up assignments for each day missed (excused absences only). What should I do if I don't understand an assignment? If you don't understand an assignment, ask a friend first. If you still don't understand the assignment, ask me. I am also available after school for additional help if you need it (2:15-2:45 pm). Please make arrangements ahead of time and make sure you have transportation provided after school. What is After School Detention? If you choose to break a Mount Baker rule, you will have the opportunity to attend After School Detention. Detention is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:15 - 3:05 pm. If you have repeated offenses, you will have the opportunity to visit Thursday School from 2:15 - 4:30 pm. What do I do if I am late to class? If you are late to class, you need to have a written excuse from a teacher or from Mount Baker staff. If you do not have a written excuse, you will be marked tardy and assigned a Lunch Detention. NO! Extra credit is not provided for those who do not complete "regular credit". What strategies can I use to make sure I am successful in school? The best strategies to ensure success are: Listen Complete ALL work thoroughly and neatly READ, READ, READ Try your very BEST Please take responsibility for your learning! Also, make sure you read a minimum of 20 minutes every night. Good readers make good students! When do Progress Reports go home? Progress Reports are sent home with students on Wednesdays, usually every two weeks. The Extreme Team expects the cover sheet to be signed by a parent/guardian and returned by the following Monday. What happens if I forget to bring my signed Progress Report back to school?
