Reading and Writing Support Core 4 period 7

 
Reading and Writing Support Class Agenda:
This class meets 4 times per week. Friday is community time.
Planner completed and out on the corner of the desk to be checked and signed.

15 minutes skill work - Daily Language Practice/ Spelling/Reading Comprehension
15 minutes lesson - Grammar and Writing activities filling in missing skills to reach grade level
20 minutes regular education homework help and reteach material from regular education Language Arts class.

Planners are a required part of this class. We will also work on organizing our materials and assignments. Student will get a planner grade every 2 weeks. Planner must be completed and signed by Mrs. Ireland or Mrs. Kosaki each day. Friday signature will be given and scored on Monday while students are starting class.

This class will not have additional homework. The focus and goal of this class is to get students to grade level so they may exit special education services in the area of Reading and Writing before moving to the high school. Students selected for this class are close to grade level and will need to work hard to attain this goal. Students in this class will attend a regular education Language Arts class and receive reteaching, assistance with assignments and skill practice during this support class.
