There are 4 hints I have:
1) If the numerator is 1, it's simplified!
ex: 1/256, 1/3, 1/5
2) If the numerator is 1 number smaller than the denominator, it's simplified!
ex: 4/5, 6/7, 125/126
3) If the num & denom have zeros, you can take off the same number
of zeros and then continue to simplify!
ex: 20/30 = 2/3, 40/60 = 4/6 (and then simplify more) 100/1000 = 1/10 (you can
remove 2 sets of zeros)
4) If the numerator AND denominator cannot be evenly divided by 2, 3, 5,
AND/OR 7, (11, 13, and other prime numbers if it is a BIGGER numbered
fraction) then it's simplified!
ex: 7/20 cannot be divided by 2, 3, 5, or 7. Neither can 3/7, 2/9, or 10/13.
