Health Tips


Kids should play outside 60 minutes every day. Rain or shine!

Kids should eat fast food no more than 2 x per month.

Kids should not drink pop more than 1 x per week, and they should never drink caffeine.

Kids should attempt to eat the rainbow of colors of fruit and vegetables each week.  As they get good 
at this they should do 2 x per week.

Kids should get 10 hours of sleep per night until 9th grade.  Once in high school kids need at least 8 
hours sleep and an extra 1/2 hour of sleep for each hour of moderately intense exercise.

In Washington, kids should be taking Vitamin D supplements, and most active kids should also be 
taking some sort of iron supplement.  In addition all people should be taking fish oil on a regular basis.
