What's New

Fabulous February!!

Two weeks left until the end of the second trimester! Hold on!!

Eighth grade language arts is deep into the Mississippi region as our revelation of the tales of Tom Sawyer unfold. Finding particular quotes and commenting on the word choice, sentence structure or imagery are basic assignments of the text. Mark Twain's favorite area of the country, its culture and richness, is accented as the marvelous story develops.

Seventh grade is hopping in grammar now that we have completed John Knowles' marvelous novel, A Separate Peace. Friendship and being true to one's self are lessons to be confirmed at any age and that novel provided many a delightful discourse.

Being true to one's self is certainly a lesson that goes with sixth grade's novel study of A Break with Charity. An historical fiction provides the class with many interesting discussion topics stemming from the Salem witch hunts of 1692 in Massachusetts. (Grammar is brewing in our little class cooking pot as well.)

All of the levels are sparking more learning with our Wordly Wise adventures helping to add to more succinct articulation skills. :-)  Being more than just spelling, this program is excellent for all ages to comprehend and apply vocabulary in real life.

Each of your students are a gift and with that in mind, I view them carefully and acutely. I wish the best for all. Thank you for sharing them with me.

Best wishes!
