Hi!
I am Mrs. Ness. This is my sixth year as a Kindergarten teacher
at Three Rivers Christian School. This fall begins the third year of
our "all-day" Kindergarten program. I am excited about what this year will
bring!
I am certifed to teach K-8 in Washington and K-12 in Nebraska,(where I
taught 2nd grade). Other previous teaching positions have been: 1st grade
in Stevenson, WA and part time Kindergarten here at Three Rivers Christian
School.
In addition to these teaching positions I have been a K-8 substitute teacher
in Alaska and Washington state.
I live in Longview with my husband, Dave, and our son who is a 6th grader at
Three Rivers Christian School. Our oldest child is a 2009 graduate of TRCS
and is currently a freshman at Point Loma Nazarene University, in San Diego,
CA. It is a big adjustment for our family to not have her here. We kind of
like having both of our kids (and their friends) around.
I was born in Nebraska and lived on our family farm until I went to our
church college, Mid-America Nazarene University, in Olathe, Kansas. I moved
back to Nebraska after graduating from college to teach 2nd grade before
getting married and relocating to Alaska where my husband was pastoring. We
lived in Alaska for 2 years after we were married and then moved to
Washington.
Our first home, in the state of Washington, was in Carson (which is located
in the Columbia River Gorge). We lived in Carson for 6 years. That is
where we lived when our daughter was born. We moved to Longview in 1993, and
this has been "home" for the last 16 years.
I chose to be a stay-at-home-mom while my kids were home and I loved it.
When our youngest started school, I took a long term sub job, in
Kindergaraten, here at TRCS. That is all it took for the desire to be back
in the classroom to take hold. I enjoy teaching and I am so blessed to have
the opportunity to teach in a Christian school where I can share the love of
Jesus with each student.
