Focus on Mathematics
Dear Students, Parents and Staff,
My major role is to support increased learning
for all students by providing coaching support directly to classroom teachers.
The kinds of work you will find me doing with teachers includes co-planning
mathematics lessons based on student learning data, co-teaching, looking at
student work for evidence of learning, and planning next steps.
Providing information to parents so they can
help their students with mathematics at home is another way I support student
learning. Please take a look at the Parent
Resources listed below that are
available online. Be sure to check back occassionally for updates!
If you have any questions, please email
klewis@cloverpark.k12.wa.us or call (253) 583-5370 x3701.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Karrin Lewis
Parent Resources
One district and school focus during
mathematics teaching and learning is to encourage students to talk about the
math and their thinking. At home,
parents can ask questions that will help students think about the way they are
tackling a problem. The full "Parents as Questioners article and other ideas
for Math at Home can be found at http://www.mec-math.org/math-at-home.

Is there another way to look at the problem?

Can you explain this to me?
