What are the school hours?
Tillicum's School hours are from 8:00am until 2:30pm. On half days, all students are dismissed at 11:30am. We have breakfast beginning at 7:45. There is no adult supervision available before 7:45 am. Students should be arriving between 7:45 and 7:50, this insures that they may go directly into the gym and be ready to start the day before the tardy bell rings.Back to Top

Do Tillicum kindergarteners go to school on half-days?
Yes - Tillicum kindergarteners are full day so they follow the same calendar as the 1st - 5th graders.Back to Top

Do I need to have my student bring in a note if they have been ill?
Yes - the office needs written verification of a student's illness. It is always best to have the student bring in the note when they return to school so that the attendance excuse can be corrected.Back to Top

What is a student led conference for kindergarten?
Kindergarten: There will be two performance stations - one for reading and one for math. After students have shared their reading (student pick), writing (first picture) and math (teacher pick) with parents they will sit with the teacher to make goals for the year.Back to Top

Student and parents come into the classroom and move around content stations that will be set up in the classroom. At each station the student and parents will complete an activity and then look at their student's work. Each student will have their own portfolio of work to share. The last station is with the teacher to share goals for the year and answer any questions.Back to Top

Each student has a portfolio binder that includes at least 2 samples of reading, math, writing, science, social studies and specialists. A reflection sheet accompanies all work in the portfolio. When parents and their student come to the conference, they will share their work and reflections. Included in the time will be setting academic/behavior goals with the teacher and answering any questions you may have.Back to Top
