Welcome to a great new year at Tyee Park! I am excited to be a part of a dedicated team of professionals, whose mission is preparing our children for a successful future. We believe in doing whatever it takes to help students achieve, which includes partnering with families to help children come to school ready to learn, and offering tips and resources to support your child’s learning at home. Parents are a child’s first and most important teacher; families and teachers together can provide children with every opportunity to achieve.You’ll notice some changes this year as we adjust our practice to improve our ability to meet the needs of each individual child. Changes include some new tools, like a new reading program in grades K-5 and training in “differentiated instruction,” to name just a few. We will continue to develop systems to improve communication with families, and invite you to come by and find out how you can participate in our school community, and share how we can better meet your child’s needs.I look forward to getting to know each of you as the school year gets under way.
