Final Poetry Book Assignment
1. Each book needs four poems: list poem, autobiography poem, animal poem, and
elementary poem. [you may add an extra poem if you like]
2. Title your book: Sixth Grade Poems; Yellow Iris in Spring; Short Poems,
Long Days [you decide on your title.]
3. Create a dedication page.
4. Create a title page: author, title, date
5. Use a larger font for the title of your book.
6. Design a cover. Capture the reader’s eye. Make it pleasing visually.
7. Use a 12 pt. font for the text of the poems. Use the same font and layout
for all poems. Skip two lines beneath your title. Line left but use a one inch
margin.
8. About the author page. Back cover, with picture if possible.
finalize books. one reading lesson a day. speaking exercises for all.
Monday Tuesday Wednesday regular days. th f will be half days without less
academic rigor.
