Mr. Mckaughan has been playing music for a long time. His background is in
Musical Composition and Recording Technology. He received a B.A. from
Evergreen in 2000 and his teaching certification from UW Tacoma in 2004. He
completed his Professional Certification through Evergreen in 2007.
Currently, he is pursuing is Masters Degree in Education and Technology.
His favorite instrument is the piano. This past school year, Mr. Mckaughan
has been working on his clarinet playing skills. The one instrument that he
needs to get better at is the flute. Mr. M goes to concerts and helps record
his friends' bands. Sometimes, he makes beats for people.
Here are some animations from Summer School 2006 at Woodbrook when I taught
Language Arts and Reading.
Our mission is to learn how to play an instrument and have fun playing it. We
will learn how to play as a whole group and as a soloist. We will create our
own songs. We will play concerts at Woodbrook and in the community. The
mission of the students in the music program is to become life long players.
Students will gain the skills they will need in order to be musicians in the
21st century. This includes instruction on musical composition using computer
software and electronic recording devices. Students will learn how to use
video in order to create moving images that sound can be added to. By the
time students exit the Woodbrook Music Program in 8th grade, they should be
able to use basic video editing programs, basic audio recording programs, a
microphone, a video camera, and their traditional band instrument to create
music and other projects that will enhance their academics and learning in the
future.
