Dear Families,

   Only 12 days left!!! Yikes!  We still have so much to do! This is what we have for the week.

Reading:
Students will begin their new story titled The Snow Glory.  Skills to be covered include:  vocabulary, story elements, problem/solution, and summarizing literature.  Guided reading will continue on Tuesday and Thursday.  Students will be administered a "running record" reading assessment to check guided reading level on Wednesday of this week. 

Spelling:
Unit 29 - Long "o" spelling pattern
Word Wall Words:  also, around, show, small, today

Writer's Workshop:
Students will continue their Fiction writings.

Theme:
We continue to work on our Character unit. 

Math:
Students successfully completed unit 12 today.  We will review tomorrow and test on Wednesday, May 23rd.  Students will then begin a "cumulative" math assessment over the next several days.  Results will come home before the end of year. 

Science:
Students will continue their unit on Geology.  We will explore the 3 main classifications of rocks and how they are created. 

S.Studies:
Students continue to explore patriotic monuments and symbols.

School and Classroom Reminders:
*  Wednesday, May 23rd - All Day Sub for Running Records!
*  Tuesday/Wednesday - Book Fair!
*  Thursday, May 24th - CL Talent Show - Afternoon!
*  Friday, May 25th - Reward "rest time" (bring a blanket or towel to rest on)
*  No school on Monday, Memorial Day!
