About The Teacher

This will be my 11th year working in the Germantown School District and my
12th year teaching overall. I began my teaching career in Appleton,
Wisconsin teaching first grade, but moved to the Milwaukee area to be closer
to family and friends. In Germantown I first taught at MacArthur
Elementary School, 1st grade. I then moved to Rockfield Elementary where I
taught 3rd and 4th grades. I am currently teaching at County Line, 1st
grade where I am returning for a 8th year. I truly have a passion about
teaching and working with 1st grade students. County Line has a reputation
for delivering a quality education. I am determined to live up to that
reputation.
My husband Andy and I reside in Cedarburg. We have two children. Our son,
Jack is 3 years old and we had our new baby girl, Kate in January 2011. We
also have a lovely Golden Retriever named Lilly. Besides teaching, I also
have a huge interest in music and theater. I truly enjoy
singing and acting! This comes out in my teaching.
I hold a teaching license to teach grades 1-8 with a minor in theater 1-9
from UW Oshkosh, and I have my Masters Degree of Education in education from
Cardinal Stritch University.

Mission For The Class

I am focused on teaching the child as a whole: physically, socially, and
intellectually. The entire child must be encompassed into education, not
just one singular part. As your child's teacher I intend to differentiate my
instruction to best meet
their unique and special needs within the classroom. I will do this
through classroom structure, making the classroom activities interesting and
brain based, teaching by
using multiple intelligence, being consistent and fair, but most of all by
making my classroom fun and safe for each student.
