| What is the Learning Center? The Learning Center, also known as the TLC, is
a resource to all students at Holy Apostles School. It is a place where
students who are struggling in any subject can get extra help. It is a room
where students can study quietly before a test or complete work after an
absence of any kind. Students come to the learning center to be challenged
or to use one of the many Mac computers that are available. They come to
learn and practice organizational skills. Younger students come for basic
technology instruction and literacy activities. Peer mentoring is available
November through May in the TLC. There is something for everyone at Holy
Apostles School!
The TLC is run by Mrs. Klawans. She has a BS degree in education from
Illinois State University and is currently working on her Masters degree at
Cardinal Stritch University. She has 8 years of classroom teaching
experience. This is her second year working as a resource teacher. She and
her husband, Chuck, are busy raising 4 children. Mrs. Klawans also keeps
busy studying, attending her children’s sports events, and walking her 2
dogs. | |
